Cookies & Milk Event Live and In Person with Shawn Amos & Brian Egeston!!!

As a bookstore, we're legally obligated to put "books" in the number one slot of our favorite things list, but to be honest, cookies are a very, very close second! So, we're combining our two favorite things to create an event that's sure to leave us running around the store in a sugar rush to rival all previous sugar rushes! Shawn Amos, famous blues musician and son of Wally Amos AKA Famous Amos (THE cookie guy), is going to be coming to Little Shop, along with special guest Brian Egeston, on May 28th at 5:00 PM! Shawn and Brian will be treating us to a night of story and song as they share with us about Shawn's new middle grade book, Cookies & Milk, a semi-autobiographical story about his own experience helping his father open the world's very first chocolate chip cookie store on Sunset Boulevard in 1976! There will be singing and reading and (of course) plenty of cookies so come on out for a super fun, sugary-sweet night!

SHAWN AMOS is a world-renowned Blues musician who grew up the son of Wally Amos, aka Famous Amos: a pop culture icon, cookie mogul, and household name to this day. When Shawn’s not touring or recording as The Reverend Shawn Amos, he works as a partner at NYC communications firm Hudson Cutler. He is also a divorced father of three children, with whom he enjoys baking. Cookies & Milkis his first novel

Brian Egeston is one of the few rare unicorns in the world of TV writing. Just as comfortable in a drama writers’ room as he is in a comedy writers’ room. Having written award shows and features in fast-pace production environments, he brings a producers’ approach to every project he works on.  After six published novels, an award-winning stint as a sports editor in Atlanta and serving as an NPR commentator, Brian set his sights on writing TV. He adapted his third novel, Granddaddy’s Dirt into a screenplay, which caught the attention of producers for TBS where he broke into the industry as a staff writer for Tyler Perry’s House of Payne

It's a summer of family, friendship, and fun fiascos in this semi-autobiographical novel that's as irresistible as a fresh-baked cookie.
Eleven-year-old Ellis Johnson has the summertime blues. He dreamed of spending the summer of 1976 hanging out with friends, listening to music, and playing his harmonica.
